Waves rise high, threatening to drown us.
We’re like sinking ships bobbing about in a storm-tossed sea.
Desperately seeking safety.
[bctt tweet=”And we so often forget that our Lifeguard walks on water”]
There is no pit, watery or otherwise, too deep for His arm to fail to reach down and rescue us.
There is no storm that will do irreparable harm to our souls.
We are held secure. Hope is an Anchor for wavering hearts.
Grace remains our lifebelt.
Love holds us steady, soothing fretful spirits as we try to stay afloat in the storm.
We may feel like we’re lost at sea as storms rise with dreadful rapidity.
It can feel like we’re permanently sunk with:
- Relationship upsets
- Financial crisis
- Heartache and heartbreak
- Health scares
- Losses of every kind
All set to rock our world, rain down torrents of fear and terror, pain and shame.
My friend, I’ve lived long enough to have discovered the best way to weather life’s storms.
Each and every one has been survivable when I’ve rested more in God’s provision instead of resisting the waves rising over my head.
God reminds us that this too shall pass and we can emerge safe out the other side.
Shaken, yes, but still intact because we’ve trusted Him to see us through.
He is…
Our Rescuer.
Our Healer.
Our strong Deliverer.
Our Refuge.
Our Shelter.
Our Anchor.
[bctt tweet=”We have the promise of God’s continual Presence to comfort and reassure us”]
No matter what we may go through, God is ready, willing, able and available to help us.
Life may overwhelm for a while but with His strength we can overcome the storms.

It’s a huge encouragement to know that “there is no pit too deep for our Rescuer to reach us”, isn’t it? May you always rest in the security this knowledge brings. Blessings and hugs to you too, Trudy. I’m always blessed by your visits here, my friend! 🙂 x

We have lived long enough to know that God is our protector in all storms. I love having life experience and knowledge of who God is and how much He loves me. I did not always know this my whole life. The image of God as the lifeguard walking on the water is one I am taking with me today. Thank you for your words and your heart on this page.

Mary, I totally agree with you. It has taken years of testing and trials, where I’ve witnessed God’s goodness and grace over and over again, for me to have deep soul awareness of “how much He loves me.” Our relationship with God over time produces greater faith and certainty that He is who He says He is and He will do what He says He can do. I’m truly thankful for my Lifeguard keeping me afloat in life’s treacherous seas, and I’m glad this imagery spoke to you too. Bless you. x
